Install Solar Pathway Lights in 10 Minutes

(Attention) No trenching. No transformer. No electrician. Solar pathway lights are the rare outdoor upgrade you can finish before your coffee gets cold.

(Interest) The catch — and it's small — is two easy steps most people skip that make the difference between lights that shine bright the first night and lights that barely glow.

What you need

That's it. No tools required for most yards.

Step 1 — Charge before you plant (the skipped step)

Take the lights out of the box and let the panels sit in direct sun for [CHARGE TIME, e.g. 1–2 full days] before installing. Many lights ship with a battery pull-tab or a power switch — flip it to ON first.

Why: a fresh battery needs a full initial charge to hit rated runtime. Skip this and night one looks disappointing through no fault of the light.

Step 2 — Plan your spacing

Mark where each light goes before planting anything. Aim for [SPACING RANGE] apart, set [OFFSET] back from the path edge.

Step 3 — Assemble

Most lights snap together in seconds: attach the stake to the light head. [ADJUST TO ACTUAL PRODUCT ASSEMBLY.]

Step 4 — Push into the ground

Press each stake firmly into the soil until stable. If the ground is hard or rocky, loosen it first with a trowel or pre-water the area — don't force the stake or you'll crack it.

Step 5 — Point the panel at the sun (the other skipped step)

Make sure each panel has a clear view of midday sun — not shaded by shrubs, fences, or the house. In winter climates, angle panels slightly toward the low southern sun.

Why: a shaded panel is the single most common cause of "my solar lights don't work." Placement beats specs.

That's it

(Desire) Come dusk, the whole path lights itself — and keeps doing it every night, automatically, forever, for $0 in running cost.
